In the past, consumers have typically been exposed to broad lifestyle media offering content a mile wide but only an inch deep. The high cost of entry into the traditional media industry necessitated media products offer mass appeal to attract the largest possible volume audience with little resources directed toward specialized content. Conversely, the low cost of entry into web-based media allows online publishers the opportunity to present niche, and, more and more, super-niche content and exploit the communities that grow up around it.
Our mission is to build branded consumer platforms that provide exposure to a broad array of topics and then, more importantly, allow users to dive a mile deep into quality content on any particular point of interest. Our belief is that by aggregating a myriad of topically-oriented sites around a nucleus appealing to a common demographic, we can leverage shared technology to connect online communities to engage with other sites in a relevant and valuable manner.
